About Marble Queen Pothos

Maristotle is one of my absolute favorites. She's basically a Golden Pothos who went to art school — the leaves are heavily marbled in cream and white with just enough green to keep photosynthesizing. She grows a little slower than her golden cousin, but the payoff is worth it. Every leaf is genuinely different.

The more light she gets, the more white she throws. Put her in low light and she'll green up over time — not dying, just conserving energy like a sensible plant. Ophelia started as a single cutting from Maristotle and now has her own pot and her own personality.

How to Care for Marble Queen Pothos

Light

Bright indirect light is best for maximum variegation. In lower light, she'll gradually shift to more solid green — it's not a problem, just the plant being smart about energy. If you want that white to stay vibrant, give her a spot near a window.

Water

Every 1–2 weeks, same as Golden Pothos. Less chlorophyll = slower growth, so she's not lazy, she's just working with less fuel. Be patient with her growth rate.

Humidity

Anything goes. She's as adaptable as her golden cousin in this regard.

Propagation

Very easy — same as Pothos. Snip a node, water prop, root in about 2 weeks.

Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Less chlorophyll = slower growth. She's not lazy, she's working with less fuel. Be patient.
  • Reversion is normal. If a vine starts reverting to solid green, snip it — the cutting will root and the mother plant will throw more variegated growth.
  • She's different from Snow Queen. Snow Queen Pothos (Nova) looks similar but is cooler-white and even slower. Different vibes entirely.
  • ⚠️ Toxic to cats and dogs — keep up high if you have pets.

Best Placement

Marble Queen thrives in bright indirect light, especially near east or north-facing windows. A kitchen windowsill or sunroom shelf will keep her variegation at its brightest. If you want that stunning white to stay prominent, light is your friend.
